Pink Lady® makes debut at Fresh Produce India

Pink Lady® made its debut at Fresh Produce India in March, a proud sponsor partner for one of the country’s most regarded fresh produce events.

Taking place in one of the Pink Lady® brand’s largest emerging markets, the Pink Lady® booth at Fresh Produce India was the perfect platform for the Pink Lady® team to connect and engage with industry, retailers, and exporters alike, growing the Pink Lady® brand and developing strong relationships in India.

As part of the event, Jason Morris, Global General Manager for Pink Lady®, participated in a panel titled: Imports: where next for India? He spoke alongside Jitender Lohani from DJ Exports, one of Pink Lady’s primary partners in the market, Laurent De Smedt of BelOrta, and Anton Kruger, Fresh Produce Export Forum, South Africa.

During the panel discussion, Jason spoke about the Pink Lady® brand’s approach to driving growth and demand in the Indian market. Jason highlighted that the success Pink Lady® has seen in the market was largely due to the strength of the brand’s relationship across the value chain, first and foremost with key import partners and then into the wholesale and retail network with the support of brand’s agency partner QuikRelations. Jason also pointed to the progress Pink Lady® brand has seen in delivering a full 12-month supply.

He said the pleasing result for Pink Lady® India is that the market is receiving a significant volume of Pink Lady® branded fruit from Serbia and the US this season, which provides excellent confidence that the fruit in the Indian market will see sustained momentum with NH supply securing sales into the SH season.

This has contributed to a step up in growth noted up until March 2024 with a 42.6% increase compared to the previous year, as demonstrated in the table below.
