Africa celebrates Pink Lady® apples in style!

Across South Africa, Nigeria and Reunion Island, a number of recent Pink Lady® initiatives highlight the brand’s commitment to creating meaningful, uplifting experiences with communities and celebrates culinary excellence across the markets.

South Africa: A flavourful journey with Herman Lensing

In an exciting collaboration, Pink Lady® was the primary sponsor of a brand-new television program in South Africa, “Herman en die Ladies” (Herman and the Ladies). Featuring renowned celebrity chef, editor, and author Herman Lensing, the show is a tribute to inspiring breast cancer survivors, featuring heartfelt conversations with breast cancer survivors.

As part of the program, Herman incorporates Pink Lady® into delectable baked goods, creating dishes that harmonize beautifully with the show’s uplifting theme. Moreover, viewers will get a glimpse of our latest TV commercial, further emphasizing the exquisite qualities of Pink Lady® apples. Prominent local news outlets, including News24 and Die Burger, have shared articles about the survivors’ inspiring stories and the show’s delectable content.

Nigeria: Spreading Joy with Pink Lady® apples

This July, Pink Lady® ambassadors hit the streets of Nigeria in the Pink Lady® bus with the beloved Pink Lady® mascot, boosting brand awareness in the market. The interactive sampling stand became a hotspot where customers could savour the delicious taste of Pink Lady® apples and partake in entertaining games, with the chance to win Pink Lady® branded prizes.

But the excitement didn’t stop there; for the first time this year, the Pink Lady® brand extended the activation to schools, sharing the joy of Pink Lady® apples by visiting various schools, engaging children with a special Pink Lady® apple song, and providing them with a small bag of Pink Lady® apples.

Reunion Island: Culinary Excellence with Pink Lady® Apples

In Reunion Island, Pink Lady® embarked on a culinary journey in August this year, partnering with five renowned chefs, each tasked with creating unique dishes infused with the unique flavours of Pink Lady® apples. Among these talented chefs was Julien Leveneur, hailed as the French Dessert Champion of 2022. To honour their exceptional culinary skills, each chef received a set of handmade pink pottery dessert bowls by the celebrated Island potter Claire Falconnet.
